I’m going to start this post by saying, I basically didn’t follow this recipe at all 😅. It’s very different in a lot of ways because I was initially going to make another dessert entirely but ended up going with this recipe because I was at Mav’s apartment and didn’t have everything that I needed and the ingredients list most closely lined up with what I had on hand. All that being said, I am extremely happy with how it turned out! It’s definitely not as pretty as the original version from Lovely Little Kitchen, but it still tasted great and people enjoyed eating it! I’m going to bullet point the changes I made below and then get to the best part.. the comparison pictures!!
- Used Bob’s Red Mill gluten-free all purpose flour
- Omitted the oats
- Used sour cream instead of Greek yogurt
- Used really finely chopped/smooshed apple (that me and Mav picked ourselves, flashback to this post!) instead of the recommended chunky apple sauce
- Used apple cider instead of apple sauce for the glaze
<<<<<<<<< t the prettiest looking, but it was super tasty! The apple cider glaze seeped through the top of the bread and added some much needed moisture. If you're looking for a last minute Thanksgiving/fall type of dessert for the holidays this week, check out Lovely Little Thing's recipe here!
